Last year I was asked to cover the AfroBox tent at the very first Butterfly Effect festival based in South London - which is also featured on my online portfolio.
After the reception and buzz it received on social mediaI was once again asked to cover the event; this time I was tasked with capturing the event across its various tents and on the main stage and once again creating a main long form highlight video and a series of shorter videos for social media.
The aim was to first promote the client’s work, ability and stage presence and secondly portray the event as a sold out success , which was challenging as the turn out was majorly affected by the rainy conditions on the day; another aim was to get people excited and wanting to come to the next event and to create some online chatter around the event and the client.
I hence decided to have the splits as follows:
The first one was to showcase the client’s DJing skills and the crowd’s response.
The second split was to showcase the client’s hosting skills and the crowd’s reception.
The third was to showcase the main acts and the crowd’s response to them.
The fourth one was to showcase the vibe in general across the different tents and main stage.
